Karissa is a musician, originally from southwestern New Hampshire, who has been surrounded by music from a young age. She grew up singing and playing the piano (as well as the flute, drums and mallets), all throughout her schooling, even continuing with the studies in college. Music is a constant part of her life and one that she loves to share with others. Karissa graduated from Wheaton College with a double major in Marine Geochemistry and Music as well as a double minor in Theatre and Arabic. She has been teaching voice and piano ever since, as well as music directing a variety of groups in the greater Boston area for middle schools, high schools, as well as community groups. When not teaching voice and piano lessons (or working her other jobs), Karissa spends her time as a Marine Audio Engineer, as well as a Music and Theatre Professor at Lasell University in Newton, MA. She also music directs, conducts and plays for the musicals at Lasell (the shows done in tandem with Regis College) every semester, shows including The Lightning Thief, Addams Family, and Legally Blonde to name a few. Karissa is also a performer, and performs in the greater Boston and Seacoast NH area on stage (and off) in cabarets, straight plays and musicals.
